The Catholic Association of Music,
founded in 1996 by Catholic recording artist, John Michael Talbot is a network of contemporary and liturgical music ministries. Its purpose is to provide spiritual, artistic and professional guidance to Catholic artists and to provide direction and education in the "business" of the Catholic/Christian music industry.
WHAT DOES CAM OFFER?
CAM offers an abundance of NETWORKING opportunities with Catholic Musicians literally from every corner of the USA,
Canada and Europe. CAM Professional Members include some of the best known Catholic recording artists and Record and Publishing Companies.
The GENERAL CONFERENCE held each May in Arkansas offers its membership spiritual and practical guidance aimed
at improving their various ministry activities. Lecturers and seminars include "celebrity" Music Industry speakers, songwriting evaluations by leading Christian music publishers, presentations on recording techniques, product marketing and packaging, concert booking, copyright and legal issues, etc.
With Membership, each ministy receives:
- Listing and information on the CAM website.
- Access to CAMchat, CAM’s online discussion forum.
- Contacts, leads and links to Catholic and Catholic friendly radio, TV, events, distribution, publications, web sites, etc.
- Cooperative participation in NATIONAL TRADE SHOWS and CONFERENCES, sharing of booth space, group discounts, etc.
- Fellowship and building relationships through networking with other artists and ministries
Members of CAM encompass the entire range of the Christian music industry including performers,writers, managers, agents,
arrangers, producers, publishers and record companies. There are two levels of membership.
Membership
is open to professional Catholic Recording Artists and/or Companies whose primary focus is in reaching Catholics through music. All performing artists must have attained regional or national status; have recorded at least one commercially available album of Christian music; and have available a professional publicity package. CAM is also open to parish musicians, music directors or aspiring music ministries on the verge of "taking the next step" to becoming professional performers. Dues: $75.00 per calendar year.
Industry Membership is open to all media representatives and businesses.
Radio, Television, Internet, and printed media are encouraged to participate. Dues: $75.00 per calendar year.
